My Nephew!
My first nephew was born Friday May 31, 2013. Benson Asay weighed 9lb.4oz and was 21in. long. He was a big baby! I am so excited for my sister and brother-in-law. Benson has been long awaited and it is so fun having him here. They are both great parents already! I was able to go down and meet Benson for the first time last weekend. It was so much fun! I love him so much already. I love that I live close enough that I can visit and see how much he will change over the next few months.

Warm Weekends.
The weather here in good old Rexburg, Idaho this week has been fantastic. Im talking upper 60's mid 70's. We can finally feel that summer is just around the corner. And of course we had to take advantage of the weather. We have been talking about how we need to find camp chairs so we can set them up on the balcony. Our friends Brad and JC found an old rocker at the D.I for a whopping $10. It's great! So Ashton and I searched D.I to try and find some cheap chairs, but of course we were too late and there weren't any left. So we thought we would try the ones in Idaho Falls. Ashton, Brad and I took a trip down and we scored! We found three camping chairs. Now all we do is sit outside and relax.
Friday afternoon Ashton and I actually fell asleep in our chairs, the weather was perfect and we did not have any homework so it was way nice to just relax. Our apartment is always in the sun so we got nice and tan! I now know that I could never live somewhere where there was little sun. We woke up from our little cat nap so rejuvenated! The day just kept getting better. We barbecued hamburgers, played frisbee, and went to JC's soccer game.

Later that night we went to see The Great Gatsby. I love the book and was actually kind of nervous to see how the movie would turn out. I ended up really enjoying the movie. I thought that it was very true to the book. The acting was great, however I did think that the director did some weird things visually but other than that it was great!
Saturday morning Ashton, Parker, Brad, and I got up and went to the Ririe Reservoir. We laid out on the boat docks and attempted to swim, well the boys attempted to swim. The water was freezing! After that we went to Big Jud's. It serves world famous burgers. None of had ever been there and we were all pretty impressed. Later that night Ashton, Brad and I met some other friends at the sand dunes for a bonfire (everyone else was pretty beat and didn't want to go). It was a great way to end a great weekend.
It's weekends like this one that remind me why I go to school in Idaho!

First Week Down.
I have survived yet another first week of school. Moving into my apartment was actually pretty easy. I got everything unpacked in under three hours. After I had everything unpacked it looked just like I had left it. It is so nice being back, I really missed it! Classes this semester are going to interesting. It is definitely going to be a challenging semester. However I think that I am going to really enjoy them, well expect math, I will never enjoy math.
Other than classes it has already been so fun! Being back with my old roommates has been a blast! We have all had a really good time getting to know our new roommates too! Its weird for me because I am the oldest one. Four out of the six of us are freshman. So basically I feel like a grandma!haha
The weather has been amazing. It has been in the high 60's all week. It is getting me so excited for summer. Let's be real, everything is better when its hot. I can already say this semester is going to be prime!

It's a sad day though, my roommate Anna left for a month. She is going on a Meso-America trip. It's going to be way weird without her here! Now everyone from our friends are gone except me...Here's to hoping 4 weeks goes by real quick.

Change Up.
| There's no going back now! |
Here is the before and after.
I have been trying to grow out my bob for a while and now its at the stage where it flips out right on my shoulders but its actually been growing really quickly. So for the cut I just cleaned up ends with a simple trim and added a little bit of texture throughout. Its a fun and light look perfect for summer! Now I just need summer to actually be here, Im sick of the cold winter weather. I mean come on its April for goodness sakes!

Who Would Have Thought?
22 days. There are 22 more days until I am back in Rexburg. It may come as a surprise to some people but I cannot wait to go back! Due to the weird BYU-I track system I have been off school for he past three months. This has been my second long break and honestly this time around I have missed little Rexburg more than ever. Now never in my life did I ever imagine myself missing a little town in Idaho. But really ever since starting school back in the fall of 2011, Rexburg has really grown on me. Like most people I was skeptical of the place when I first got there. There isn't much there, a few grocery stores, a small movie theater, Mcdonalds, Walmart, and Applebees are the main attractions. Other than the small neighborhoods and the college it's nothing but open farmland. I have always lived near a big city, so the fact that I was going to go to Idaho for school was a big change two years ago. But over the past two years I have learned to really appreciate the small town lifestyle.
My family moved while I was in school about 9 months ago to Connecticut, and don't get me wrong I love it here, but it just doesn't feel like home. It has been great being back with my family and will miss them constantly being around. I just can't wait to get back, be in a routine, start classes, and be with my friends (both old and new).

Pillows
So I finally got around to making my pillows! They were pretty easy to make, however we had to do some picking and unpicking of the stitches a couple of times. But once we knew exactly how I wanted them, we whipped them up pretty quick.
I made two of each pillow, so there are a total of four. I think they are going to look so good in my apartment. The couches are a deep brown so I figured these pillows will match perfect and bring a pop of color to the room.

New York Day Two
After the show we didn't really know what to do so we just walked around. We went up and down Fifth Avenue doing some window shopping. Then we found yet another Pottbellys for a late lunch. We only ate out twice on our trip and both times at Pottbellys. We just couldn't resist, it's our favorite! We headed back to the hotel to pick up our bags. We decided to rest their for a bit instead of waiting in the train station for our train. It was nice to rest our feet again too. We were able to get to the train station pretty quick and caught our train in just enough time.
It was so fun to have a girls trip, we wish Sarah could have been there too, but we really had so much fun!
